Use of AI is becoming more common in mental healthcare, but it can be hard to understand what it actually does and when it should be used. To help with this, we spoke to healthcare workers, members of the public, and others involved in healthcare about what they most wanted to know.
Working with Web Scientists, we have created short videos that explain what AI looks like in real life, when it can and can’t be helpful in mental health, and what both patients and professionals should think about before using it.

- What does AI look like in mental health care?
- Will AI replace in person mental health care?
- Can I use AI as a therapist?
- What are other applications of AI in mental health care?
- What do healthcare professionals need to think about before using AI for mental health care?
- How do we decide whether to trust AI in mental health care?
You can also read our blog for a simple overview of where AI in mental healthcare stands right now.
