“My mum lived with complex and enduring mental health difficulties throughout her life. From this lived experience, I grew up with a passion for improving the mental health services that people with long term mental health issues and their loved one’s experience. My work focuses on the lived experience of services and treatments that are informed by psychological theories of emotions and relationships”

Our Research

Our team have different areas of research that we like to focus on to better understand Psychosis and Bipolar disorder.

We often work together to combine research areas and skills.

Areas of Interest

Intervention developmenta.k.a. creating therapies and training. Many of our researchers are interested in developing new interventions to support wellbeing and daily functioning for people with Psychosis or Bipolar Disorder.

Mechanisms of action – a.k.a. why interventions work. As well as developing interventions we do a lot of research on what thought processes might be changing and why during interventions

Underlying psychological processes – a.k.a. what thought processes and other aspects of an individual might be related to their illness experiences.
